How does the Digital SAT work?

Digital SAT is a Computer Adaptive Test, adaptive at a section level. Each Section has 2 Modules. The level of difficulty of Module 1, for both Reading & Writing, and Math sections, is medium. Depending on the performance on Module 1, the level of difficulty of the corresponding Module 2 becomes difficult or easy. The test is administered on the computer and the modules have to be tackled in the order in which they appear; you, however, can navigate back and forth within a module.

Is there negative marking?

There is No explicit negative marking. But, the adaptive algorithm takes into account your performance on a module overall.

When do I get my score?

Your official score will be available within a few days of your Test date.

What is a good score on the SAT?

The average scores are around 1068 and a score above 1200 is considered a good score. However, the college you apply to will determine what counts as a “good score”. To get into the top colleges, you need to score around 1450 or more.

  2. Scholarships: Students who are seeking scholarships based on the SAT score should appear for the test well in advance as it takes a long time to process the scholarship and involves a lot of paperwork.
  3. Preparation Time: Students who need more time to study should schedule their test based on the time needed to prepare. The test is expensive so it is advisable to take the exam with adequate preparation.
