I have a doubt after watching co-ordinate geometry video lessons. Is this much of concepts enough for GRE? I read somewhere that equation of circle, parabola are also included in Quant syllabus.
I think it is not needed at all. Whatever is Quant syllabus, our course covers everything.
Alekhya is correct. No, equations of circles/parabolas or their associated properties are not required. Even if you come across a second degree equation in a question with the info that it is the equation of a curve, it is ONLY for information. The testing point in the question will be something very generic —
E.g. If the circle x^2 + y^2 – 4x + 8y + c = 0 passes through the point (-1, 2), what is the value of c?
Such a question is very similar to solving for an unknown in straight lines.
Trust us when it comes to preparing you for your test.
Okay. Thank you for the clarification. 😀
